Here is what we work on, what each job covers and when to call the office.

AC Repair

When the house will not cool, we find the part that failed and tell you what it costs to fix. You hear the whole job before we start, and you decide.

What it covers

  • Capacitors and contactors
  • Condenser fan motors and blower motors
  • Refrigerant leaks: finding the leak, repairing it and recharging the system
  • Compressors that will not start or keep shutting off
  • Frozen or dirty evaporator coils
  • Clogged drain lines and tripped float switches
  • Thermostats and control wiring

Call the office when

  • The system runs but the air from the vents is warm
  • The outdoor unit hums, clicks or will not start
  • There is ice on the copper lines or the indoor coil
  • Water is dripping from the ceiling or pooling by the indoor unit

AC Installation

When the old system is done, we put in a new one sized to the building, not just a copy of what was there. We quote the whole job, equipment and labor, before we start.

What it covers

  • Load sizing for the house or building
  • Split systems, package units and rooftop units
  • Removing the old equipment
  • Refrigerant line sets
  • Condenser pads and unit stands
  • Drain lines and float switches
  • Start-up testing: refrigerant charge, airflow and supply temperature

Call the office when

  • The same system keeps needing repairs
  • The compressor or coil has failed and you want a replacement priced beside the repair
  • You are building, adding on or converting a space that needs cooling
  • A rooftop or package unit on a building you manage is at the end of its life

Heating Repair

Furnace or heat pump not keeping up? We find the problem and tell you what the fix costs before we touch it.

What it covers

  • Igniters and flame sensors
  • Pressure switches, limit switches and gas valves inside the furnace
  • Blower motors and inducer motors
  • Heat pump reversing valves
  • Defrost boards and sensors
  • Electric heat strips in air handlers
  • Thermostats and control boards

Call the office when

  • The furnace starts, then shuts off before the house warms up
  • The vents blow cool air with the heat on
  • The heat pump's outdoor unit ices over and stays that way
  • The thermostat calls for heat and nothing happens

If you smell gas, leave the building and call 911 or your gas utility first.

Furnace and Heat Pump Install

We replace worn-out furnaces and heat pumps and put new ones into new buildings. Every install is started up and tested before we leave.

What it covers

  • Load sizing for the house or building
  • Gas furnaces and the coils that pair with them
  • Heat pump systems, split and package
  • Air handlers with electric heat strips
  • Line sets, pads and drain lines
  • Thermostats and control wiring
  • Start-up testing in heating and in cooling

Call the office when

  • The furnace or heat pump has failed and another repair no longer makes sense
  • You are weighing a heat pump against a gas furnace and want both priced
  • You are building or remodeling and the plans need heat
  • A unit on a building you manage needs replacing

Maintenance

A full check of the system before the season that works it hardest: cooling before summer, heating before winter. We tell you what we found and what, if anything, needs attention.

What it covers

  • Filter changes
  • Condenser and evaporator coil cleaning
  • Clearing drain lines
  • Checking capacitors, contactors and wiring connections
  • Checking refrigerant pressures
  • Furnace checks: igniter, flame sensor and burners
  • Thermostat operation and settings

Call the office when

  • Summer or winter is coming and nobody has looked at the system
  • The system runs longer than it used to
  • You just bought the house and do not know what shape the system is in
  • You manage a building with several units and want them checked together

Ductwork and Filtration

Air that leaks into the attic never reaches the room. We repair, seal and replace ducts, and we install filter cabinets.

What it covers

  • Duct sealing
  • Flex duct replacement
  • Repairing crushed, torn or disconnected runs
  • New duct runs for additions and remodels
  • Return air: resizing and added returns
  • Registers, grilles and dampers
  • Filter cabinets and air filters

Call the office when

  • One room is always hotter or colder than the rest
  • Some vents barely move any air
  • You can see ducts in the attic that are crushed, torn or hanging loose
  • The return grille whistles when the system runs

What we work on

  • Central split systemsOutdoor condenser, indoor coil, furnace or air handler
  • Heat pumpsHeating and cooling from one system
  • Package unitsEverything in one cabinet, on the roof or on the ground
  • Rooftop unitsThe units on commercial buildings
  • Gas furnacesIn the attic, the closet or the garage
  • Air handlersThe indoor half of an electric or heat pump system
  • Mini-splitsDuctless units for single rooms and additions
  • DuctworkSupply runs, returns, flex and sheet metal
  • Thermostats and controlsThermostats, zone dampers and control wiring
  • Filter cabinetsHousings and the filters that go in them

Who we work for

Homeowners

You want the house comfortable and a straight answer about what it costs. We look at the system, tell you what is wrong in plain words and quote the whole job before we start. If it should be replaced instead of repaired, we tell you why and let you decide.

Builders, general contractors, developers and property managers

You need a heating and cooling sub who shows up when the schedule says. Clear Air LLC holds a dual Arizona license, ROC 368272, class CR-39, so we take commercial and residential work, from a new build to the rooftop units on a building you manage. Call the office with the plans or the unit list and we quote the whole job.
